What is a Distributed Generation System and how do you connect to VEA's system?
Residential Distributed Generation (DG), also called on-site generation can generate electricity from different small energy sources such as a photovoltaic (PV) system or a wind generator. These DG systems produce electricity which can be used by the member or delivered to Valley Electric Association's (VEA) system which may result in a reduced electric bill.
VEA does not install or supply any PV or wind DG systems, but only allows an interconnection to our system.
If you are ready to begin the process of installing a DG system and connect it to VEA's system, please click on the link below to download the required forms. Each form must be fully completed and signed by the member. Then the forms must be returned to VEA at 800 E. Hwy 372. You will be contacted by a representative of VEA after your forms are received.
Please contact VEA's Engineering Department at (775)727-5312 if you have any questions.
You may qualify for federal tax credits by installing a DG system, please consult with your tax preparer.
