VEA is a member-owned electric cooperative based in Pahrump, Nevada, with a certified service area covering more than 6,800 square miles in Nevada and California. VEA presently provides service to over 24,000 services with 2,120 line miles of distribution facilities and 13 substations.
VETA is a wholly-owned transmission cooperative association providing service to VEA and other entities. VETA currently has 324 miles of 230/138 kV transmission facilities. Current construction includes the transmission facilities and extending service to additional large scale customers.

Accounts Payable Accountant
Immediate opening for a Accounts Payable Accountant to join our team. This position will be located at our headquarters in Pahrump, Nevada.
Key Responsibilities: This position reports directly to the Executive Vice President of Administration and Finance and works under the general supervision of the Controller who reviews work through daily observation of assigned tasks, records, and customer/vendor feedback. Employee is responsible for the processing of accounts payable, abiding by the company policy and procedures.
Required Education, Training and Experience: A two year degree with emphasize in accounting and two years of experience in accounting/bookkeeping; or five years of equivalent experience. A bachelor’s degree in accounting highly preferred..

Immediate opening for a Metering Technician to join our team. This position will be located at our headquarters in Pahrump, Nevada.
Key Responsibilities: This position provides specialized technical skills and knowledge for meter testing and programming, including AMR and AMI installations. Employee will effectively provide service information to management and consumers, creating goodwill between the Cooperative and its membership.
Required Education, Training, Experience, and Knowledge: High School Diploma or equivalent and certified as a Journeyman Meter Technician, or equivalent experience and training. A minimum of 6 years in an appropriate field. Must be familiar with the National Electric Safety Code and VEA Materials specifications as they apply to the position. Must be proficient in and possess a Medic First Aid Card (CPR inclusive). Must obtain and maintain a current commercial driver’s license (CDL) per Nevada State Department of Transportation Regulations with a class (A) endorsement and carry a current Medical Examiner’s Certificate. Must have general knowledge of Microsoft Windows and ability to navigate in a web browser. Must develop thorough knowledge of various software used to communicate with and program various electronic meters and power quality devices.

Manager of Lands & Surveying
Immediate opening for a Manager of Lands & Surveying to join our team at our headquarters located in Pahrump, Nevada.
Key Responsibilities: The Manager of Lands and Surveying is responsible for the overall stewardship of the Cooperative’s right-of-ways, easements, fee title lands and water rights and acquisition thereof, including, but not limited to: supporting the design of transmission line and substations; supervising the support services for construction of transmission line and substations; directing the acquisition of right-of-ways, easements, fee title lands and water rights; preparing and directing the preparation of legal descriptions, maps and supporting documents for said rights; providing and directing staking for construction of transmission lines, distribution lines and ancillary facilities; providing and directing the organization of records for all of right-of-ways, easements, fee title lands and water rights and maintaining such in manner consistent with policies and procedures of the Cooperative.
Required Education, Training, Experience, and Knowledge: College degree in land surveying or related field or a combination of education and experience that would qualify for this position. Successful candidate must be professionally licensed in the State of Nevada or be able to obtain such registration within twelve months of hire date. A minimum of ten years related industry land surveying and/or right-of-way management experience. Knowledge of land surveying, easement law and right-of-way corridors; skill in the use of related computer software applications; ability to deal with co-workers, customers and the general public in a professional and courteous manner. Alternative equivalencies to this experience may be considered appropriate and acceptable at the discretion of the Cooperative.

Immediate opening for a Journeyman Lineman to join our team at our headquarters in Pahrump, Nevada.
Key Responsibilities: Completes the construction, conversion, relocation and maintenance of the electrical transmission and distribution lines throughout the area served by the cooperative.
Required Education, Experience and Knowledge: High school diploma or equivalent and certified as a Journeyman Lineman. Minimum of 6 years in appropriate field. Must have a thorough knowledge of equipment, tools, materials, and services used by electric utilities. Must have knowledge of State and Federal laws related to construction. Must have thorough knowledge of the Description of Units, specifications and drawings for line construction of transmission and distribution voltages; and a thorough knowledge of operating and construction procedures and practices of electric transmission and distribution organizations. Ability to deal with co-workers and customers in a courteous and professional manner.
