Valley Electric Association had more than 1,000 attendees, with 200 members signing up for the Domestic Solar Water Heater Program and 100 members signing up for the Free Home Energy Audits at its second annual Energy Symposium.

Valley Electric Association, along with Ed Begley Jr., star of HGTV's "Living with Ed," officially kicked off the DSWH program at Valley Electric's 2009 'Our Energy Our Future Energy Symposium' on September 5th, 2009 in Pahrump, NV.

"We're extremely pleased with the support from our members, the community, and the elected officials who joined us in launching this first of its kind program. We had a record turn out for this years Energy Symposium, and the response from our members for the domestic solar water heater program and free home energy audits is exciting," said Thomas Husted, CEO of Valley Electric Association.

Valley Electric will provide zero percent interest financing to members who choose to participate in the DSWH program, allowing resident members an easy pathway to installing a solar water heater. Participating members will also be eligible to receive a Federal tax credit of up to 30% of the installed cost including labor.

"All of our vendors and our manufacturing partner, Rheem provided all of the attendees with a tremendous amount of energy efficient information. I think this, coupled with the inspirational speech given by a very knowledgeable and passionate Ed Begley Jr., proved to be a very successful event for our company and our community," added Mr. Husted.
