Pahrump, NV - Valley Electric Association (VEA) has reinstated its Domestic Solar Water Heating (DSWH) program effective November 17, 2009 after successfully working through the permitting and inspection requirements with the Nye County Commissioners and the Nye County Manager.
At the regular Nye County Commissioners' meeting on November 3, 2009, Resolution 2009-59 was passed, whereby the commissioners resolved to support VEA in the DSWH program by waiving the fees and directing Nye County staff to assist VEA contractors in the development of a streamlined inspection and self-certification program. Since that time, VEA and Nye County staff have finalized and agreed upon all requirements.
"I am extremely pleased with the outcome of this collaboration with the Nye County Commissioners and Manager," said Tom Husted, Valley Electric Association CEO. "I believe this is a reflection of how the private sector and government can work together for the benefit of the community."
