VEA Director Incumbents Re-Elected

Pahrump, NV - Valley Electric Association (VEA) held its annual district meetings throughout the month of March in each of its six districts. District 2 (Amargosa Valley, Lathrop Wells, Ash Meadows) and District 4 (Fish Lake Valley, Lida, Gold Point, Lida Junction) directors were up for election.

On Tuesday, March 23rd Mr. John Maurer, who was the incumbent, was re-elected in District 4. New this year was on-line voting; in addition to several other ways to vote such as mail-in balloting, in person or by proxy. A total of 213 members were eligible to vote, there were 56 valid ballots mailed back or cast on-line and members also came in person to vote at the meeting totaling 73 votes in all. "Thank you for your vote of confidence and I look forward to the next three years representing my district," said John Maurer.

On Wednesday, March 24th Ms. Shiela Rau, who was the incumbent for District 2 was also re-elected. Others on the ballot were John Bosta and Robert Cameron. "I have enjoyed my 12 years on the board and am honored to be voted back in for another term," commented Shiela. There were a total of 460 members eligible to vote in District 2 and 118 valid ballots were either mailed back or cast on-line and members also came in person to vote, totaling 153 votes in all.
