2010 Scholarship Program

Valley Electric Association (VEA) is very proud to announce the winning applicants for the 2010 Scholarship Program.

The Scholarships available were:

Two (2) full time academic scholarships; $1,000/per year/per student for four (4) consecutive years.

Two (2) full time vocational/technical scholarships; $1,000/per year/per student for two (2) consecutive years.

Two (2) part time continuing education scholarships; $500/per year/per student for one (1) year.

Academic Scholarship Winners were:

Kacilyn Schroeder from Beatty High School

Devin Arceo from Pahrump Valley High School

Vocational/Technical Winner was:

Gabriel Veloz, a graduate from Pahrump Valley High School in 2008

Each was selected on the merits of their school and community involvement, grade point average, letters of recommendation, statement of goals and a 500 word essay on energy.

VEA worked with all of the high schools in our service territory to e-mail transcripts and who assisted us in making the 2010 Scholarship Program paperless and a huge success!!

There were no applicants for the Part Time Continuing Education Scholarships and only one applicant for the Vocational/Technical Scholarship.
