Net Metering
- What is net metering?
- Net metering is now available to our VEA members who own and operate
a facility that generates electricity from renewable sources
such as hydro, wind or solar.
- Net metering facilities are intended to offset or meet all
of your own electrical requirements.
- Net metering measures the difference between the electricity
you buy from VEA and the electricity you generate using your
renewable generating equipment.
- It provides for customer-generators to be credited at the applicable rate in kilowatt-hours (kWh) at the ratio of 1:1 for any excess production of the generating facility that exceeds the customer-generator's on-site consumption of kWh in the billing period following the billing period of excess production.
