Wind Turbine Installed at School

Valley Electric Association (VEA) assisted the Nye County School District in acquiring grant money through the Nevada State Energy Office to purchase a wind turbine. Our partnership with others in the community, H&S Concrete and E-Z Wind & Solar, LLC, facilitated this installation at Rosemary Clark Middle School. Skystream is a wind generator installed on top of a tower that converts the kinetic energy in the wind into electricity to be used in a home's electrical system. The Skystream is the first all inclusive wind generator with controls and the inverter built into the unit. The wind turbine was installed primarily for instructional purposes and will add not only to the students' understanding of the process of renewable energy but also educating our members on wind generation as well.

This enterprise will also be an ongoing source of alternative energy data.

Look below for live data regarding the wind turbine and how much energy it is actually generating.

Click on the tabs and the historical data in the middle of the chart for more information.
