Valley Electric Association, Inc. (VEA) is excited to welcome back Robby Hamlin as its new Chief Executive Officer, who officially stepped into the role on December 9, 2024. He has over three decades of experience in the electric utility industry and is ready to bring his expertise, vision, and commitment to the cooperative and its members.
This is more than just a professional milestone for Hamlin, it’s a homecoming. He worked at Valley Electric from 2002 to 2009 and has fond memories of his time in Pahrump. “This opportunity gave me the chance to come back to Southern Nevada,” Hamlin says. “We have family in Las Vegas, so being close to them is exciting, as family is very important.”
The Valley Electric Board of Directors went through a lengthy process of searching for a new CEO, anticipating the retirement of its previous CEO, Mark Stallons. They conducted several interviews before landing on the decision to hire Robby Hamlin to fill the role.

Hamlin’s broad career includes leadership roles at Alcorn Electric Cooperative in Mississippi, CoServ Electric Cooperative in Texas, and Lassen Municipal Power District in California. Over the years, he has earned a reputation for his industry knowledge, ability to drive results, and commitment to the members and community.
Hamlin’s top priorities for Valley Electric include improving member satisfaction, keeping costs stable, and ensuring reliable services for its members. In the current changing energy market, he is focused on making sure that Valley Electric stays ahead of any industry changes.
He is equally committed to strengthening Valley Electric’s connections to its communities, emphasizing collaboration with local businesses, officials, and members to build trust and strengthen relationships.
As Hamlin settles into his role as CEO of Valley Electric, he is excited to reconnect with the people and communities that make Valley Electric so special. He is ready to lead the cooperative toward future growth and opportunity. Under Robby Hamlin’s leadership, Valley Electric is prepared to continue its long-standing mission of improving the lives of the people and communities we serve.
